Alexander WHITEHILL was a wine and spirits merchant who married Janet CAMPBELL in 1833 in Glasgow in Scotland.
Their son, William Campbell WHITEHILL was a warehouseman and later a commercial traveller. He married Elizabeth FAIRLIE. They emigrated to Queensland (Australia) with their sons Archibald and Alexander.
Alexander Fairlie WHITEHILL was born in 1860 in Glasgow and died in 1946 in Brisbane. He was a bank clerk when he married Jessie Blair TAIT in Brisbane but later rose to be a bank manager. They had the following children:

- Hilda Blair WHITEHILL who married Harry Edward Bennett SCRIVEN
- Jessie Evelyn WHITEHILL who married Fred PACE
